The Baltic Sea, a vital ecosystem and source of life for millions, is in critical condition.

 

BalticWaters2030 is dedicated to reversing this environmental decline, focusing on the urgent need for sustainable fishing practices and political action informed by science.

 

Icon Brands partnered with BalticWaters2030 to create a bold, thought-provoking campaign aimed at driving awareness and sparking change among policymakers and the public.

 

The campaign, aptly named Svårt att fatta (“Hard to grasp”), shed light on the alarming state of the Baltic Sea and the destructive fishing methods that exacerbate its crises.

 

At the heart of this campaign was a strikingly symbolic initiative: 100 carefully designed boxes were sent to politicians and policymakers with the message, “Here is the solution to the Baltic Sea’s fishing crisis.” Upon opening the box, recipients found a mirror, compelling them to confront their own responsibility in addressing this issue.

 

To amplify the message, we developed a visually stunning 3D film packed with shocking, science-based facts about the unsustainable practices harming the Baltic Sea. The film used dynamic visuals and impactful storytelling to illustrate the urgency of reforming the fishing industry, leaving no room for complacency.
